Now
My projects fall into four categories: day job, freelance, math, coaching and hobby. I try to limit myself to one project at a time in each category so I don’t get too bogged down. My interests are varied, but I am usually working on things related to programming, education, mathematical research, or sports.
This page is inspired by now.

Day Job
I am currently a Software Architect at Obot AI, working remotely from Ohio. We pivoted from a Kubernetes application deployment framework to an open-source natural language programming project called GPTScript, and then to an MCP server management platform. Being in this new space has provide a lot of opportunities for learning and improving my skills.

Freelance
I decided to move my freelance work to an actual business. However, because my wife and I recently moved to Ohio, I had to dissolve the business. Once we are settled (and the snow starts falling), I am sure I have will have the time and desire to start it back up.
Previously, I built and designed websites for clients. I also extended some functionality and improved automation for a company which allowed them to grow much more quickly than they previously thought possible.

Math
While I did discontinue pursuit of a PhD in mathematics, I will continue to read about and research mathematical topics. Right now, I am exploring some of the prime conjectures like the Twin Prime Conjecture and Goldbach’s Conjecture.
You can see more information about my previous research here.

Coaching
I enjoy coaching basketball at the high school level. Teaching young men and women the fundamentals of the game and watching them grow as a team is edifying. I am currently the head JV boys basketball coach at Gilmour Academy. Previously, I was the head JV and varsity assistant boys basketball coach at Hawken Upper School. And, prior to that, I coached boys basketball at St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Phoenix, AZ as a head coach at the lower levels and assistant at the varsity level.
I have a page dedicated to my coaching experience and philosophy.

Open Source
I am actively developing a Zed extension for styling special comments. See the repository for more information.
I am also working on an MCP SDK for Gleam. Gleam is a functional programming language that compiles to Erlang, and it is a great fit for building an MCP servers. Check it out!!.
